Nominations Database
What is the Nominations Database?
Government appointments are made every year to various boards, committees and organisations. The Office of Ethnic Affairs has created a Nominations Database to identify people primarily from ethnic communities who may be suitable for nomination for such positions.
Why a Nominations Database?
The Office of Ethnic Affairs Nominations Database has been developed to:
- Increase the diversity of members on committees and boards.
- Help identify suitable people to advise about ethnic communities interests.
How Does It Work?
- Upon registration of your Curriculum Vitae electronically or by post, information on your skills and experience will form part of the Office of Ethnic Affairs Nominations Database.
- When the Office of Ethnic Affairs is invited to submit potential candidates for a particular board or organisation, the database is searched, matching the requirements of the position with the skills and experience of the people on our database.
- The Office of Ethnic Affairs will forward as many appropriate candidates as possible for all nomination requests.
- If you are considered for nomination to appropriate organisations, the Office of Ethnic Affairs will contact you to seek your consent for referral, and if necessary request an update of your information entered on the database.
- Because requests are sometimes urgent, you may be contacted directly for your consent by the organisation concerned.
